This allows improvements to each codec's library to be released on their own instead of having to re-release what is already up-to-date. "bass.dll" is the "mother" bass file that handles codecs like MP3 and WAV on its own but links with child libraries like bassalac.dll for other codecs. Please update to the latest MusicBee 3.4 from Steven's post here. For whatever reason, MusicBee used to look for "bass_alac.dll" instead the newest versions now can use it named either way, which means you are using an older MusicBee. The bass alac library is now being delivered by its developer as "bassalac.dll". The bass_aac.dll does not deal with ALAC, just AAC, which is why that didn't work for you. All the bass library files belong in the "MusicBee" main folder.
